COVID-19 Prayer Points
Give thanks to God for His sovereignty, power and personal love for us. Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Praise God that whilst the NHS has been stretched it has not been overwhelmed. Praise God that we are past the peek of the virus.
Praise God for how the government managed to resource and equip our country for the pandemic.
Give thanks for how quickly NHS staff adapted to many challenges.
Give thanks for the huge reduction in the demand upon services.
Praise God for the increase of people listening to church services and podcasts.
Praise God for all the key workers involved in keeping the country going. Pray for all those working in shops, transport, communication and to provide our utility services.
Let us ask God to use these times to convict and convince those who do not know Christ as their saviour. Pray that the Holy Spirit would cause people to think seriously about life, death and eternity.
As the control which we think we have is swept from under our feet, pray that God will turn our thoughts to the only one who is is truly in control. Pray that many people would turn to God for salvation.
Pray for revival and for our deepest need, the healing of our spiritual sickness.
Pray for all those who are working to find ways to bring the pandemic under control. Pray that God would be merciful and enlighten their research.
Pray for all those helping to care for those who are ill in hospitals and in our communities. Keep staff safe from the virus and give them great stamina to help them to continue to cope with increased work loads. Protect and provide for each one emotionally as they process what they are experiencing.
Pray for the families of front line staff and key workers as they support their loved ones and worry about them.
Pray for those who have the virus and are currently being treated at home or in hospital. Pray that God who is the great healer will lay His hand upon them.
Remember those who are ill and their families as they each experience the feelings brought about by isolation. Pray that each would know God’s presence, comfort, strength and peace in a very tangible way through these difficult circumstances.
Hold care homes before the Lord as they battle to protect their residents from coronavirus. Pray that God would shelter the residents and protect both the staff and their families from becoming infected.
Pray for those who have lost loved ones in recent times and who are unable to be supported in the normal ways by friends and family. Pray that they will know God as their refuge and fortress. Pray that they will find refuge under his wings and know the presence of his everlasting arms underneath them.
Pray for those at home with young families and those juggling home schooling and other responsibilities. We pray for grace for times of tension, patience and understanding. Pray that parents, careers, teachers and children would turn quickly to God in repentance and forgiveness when needed.
Pray for protection for those who have cancer or underlying conditions. Pray that they would ask for help if and when that may be needed.
Pray for children who experience their own worries and frustrations. Help them to put their trust in Jesus, the one who holds their lives and their futures in his hands.
Please pray for protection on children who are in any danger.
Pray for all those isolating to protect themselves or other family members. Pray for grace for the frustrations and disappointments isolation brings. Pray for all those who are struggling with loneliness.

Pray for the many businesses across our country experiencing difficulties. May managers be able to keep as many staff in employment.
Pray for a sense of God’s peace and provision for those who have lost jobs.
